Seppii was granted a 'wish' last year by a company called Willow. Its a charity that grants wishes for young cancer patients who have finished their cancer treatment. Seppii's wish was to go to Orlando, Florida with her boyfriend Ryan, Disney land was the destination. Her wish was granted but she was told that it can take up to 12 months because there was a long waiting list. Sadly after getting the news that Seppii's cancer is now terminal, I had to contact the Willow charity and tell them that Seppii would be unable to go. They were very sympathetic and asked if it would be possible for Seppii to do something nearer to home. After a lot of thought Seppii said she would like to go to London and go on the London eye. The trip was arranged and should have taken place this Sunday (29th July 2018).

All the arrangements were made and we were set to leave on Sunday morning on the 10.30am train from Manchester. The two hour train ride to London was to be followed by a black cab trip to the hotel. The rest of the day was to be ours to do whatever we wanted. The London eye was booked for Monday at 2pm and we were due to travel back to the Christie on the Tuesday.

On Saturday a routine doctors round was to leave Seppii in tears. They had been told of the London trip and came to tell her that it would not be possible. Seppii's health had deteriorated again :( her platelets had dropped to 9, for you and I they are approximately 500! Platelets, also called thrombocytes, are tiny fragments of cells that are essential for normal blood clotting. Her platelets had been this low every day this week and she was being given a bag a day. Her body is trying so had to repair itself that it is using them up at an alarming rate. The consultant told us that they just couldn't risk Seppii being away from the hospital for 3 days, she needs the platelets daily.

So we have sadly had to cancel the London trip :(
